I’m back – sort of. For you who have missed my weekly CACP Gems for the
past several weeks this is to inform you I had a serious accident – I shattered my left hip and shoulder in a nasty
home fall. I spent a month in the hospital and I am currently wheel chair bound at home for at least 2 more months. The future
beyond that is up to the doctors.
As
you would expect my first priority is to regain my health and ability to walk. I spend about 2 hours a day in therapy. That
doesn’t leave much time for research and delivery of Gems. My plans are to send out one Gem a month until my strength
returns. This will Gem # 1 for 2007.
A Thought from President John Adams: “The virtue which has been infused into the Constitution
of the United States…was no other than…those abstract principles which had been first proclaimed in the Declaration
of Independence – namely the self-evident truths of the natural and unalienable rights of man…and the sovereignty
of the people, always subordinate to the rule of right and wrong, and always responsible to the Supreme Ruler of the universe
for the rightful exercise of that power. This was the platform upon which the Constitution of the United States had been
erected.”
Some look at the
Declaration of Independence as the “Articles of Incorporation” for the Constitution that was, as Adams declared,
the platform for the Constitution.
